About Poppy

Meet Poppy! This adorable girl resembles a relative of the Lorax and is likely a Schnauzer mix. Poppy ended up in a shelter in Alabama after her owner became homeless and had been living in a car. We’re committed to finding her a loving forever home here in Maine. Though Poppy is approximately 3 years old, she hasn’t had much experience on a leash and finds it challenging. Her new family will need to dedicate some time to help her develop those leash skills, and a fenced yard would be beneficial in the meantime. She’s known to be a sweet and loving pup, but like many rescue dogs, she may take some time to warm up. Poppy does enjoy the company of other dogs, so having a confident canine buddy in the home would be a real plus. Poppy is currently in Alabama but is anticipated to arrive in Maine in early November.
