Maisie is a Great Pyrenees who's seen quite a journey. Despite being allegedly eight years old, it's hard to believe given her buoyant spirit and charming personality. She came to us in dire straits—overweight, heartworm positive, and plagued with fleas and infections. After months of care and a 22-pound weight loss, she's now a healthy, happy 78 pounds of love. She’s housebroken, well-mannered, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and children over six. Her ideal home includes a securely fenced yard and owners who understand that she prefers ongoing affection. Don’t think of petting as a one-and-done; it’s more of a continuous engagement that she’ll remind you about with a gentle paw. Despite a hint of arthritis, Maisie can still move with surprising agility when the mood strikes. Most of the time, though, she's content to relax and keep an eye on her family from a cozy spot.
