About Gertrude
Meet Gertrude, or Gertie for short! This energetic and friendly 11-month-old Shepherd mix has a big heart and a delightful personality. Weighing in at 32 lbs, Gertie thrives on interaction and enjoys making friends of all kinds—human or animal. She's already making great strides with her potty and crate training, remains quiet when inside, is a star in the car, and walks beautifully on a leash. Gertie has already mastered "sit" and "down" and is continuing to learn her manners. Her playful nature loves long walks and dog park escapades, so she would flourish in an active family environment with a fenced yard and a buddy to romp with. While she gets along well with other dogs, her rambunctious energy may overwhelm smaller pals, and she has a curious streak when it comes to cats. Additionally, her compatibility with younger children remains uncertain; her lively antics may be more than a toddler can handle. Gertie is still recovering from an old injury to her right hind leg, so her activity will need to be managed for now. Despite her fear of vacuum cleaners, she has a talent for making friends with absolutely everyone! If you’re looking for an affectionate and adventurous companion who’s ready to learn and grow with you, Gertie is eagerly waiting to meet you!
