About Nova

Meet Nova! This spirited nine-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever from Charlotte, NC, is a radiant beam of affection wrapped in a glossy black coat. Weighing 75 pounds, she lights up at the sight of familiar faces and new friends alike. Nova shower you with enthusiastic kisses and tail wags that could rival a metronome! Her joyful connection shines through as she bounds after her squeaky llama toy or curls up after a long walk, filling every moment with warmth and laughter. Nova thrives on structure—two good walks a day, consistent meal times, and a cozy nighttime routine help her feel at peace. Though she loves couch snuggles and belly rubs, she's a little mischievous with unattended snacks or curious mulch piles. Supervision and a sturdy crate filled with a peanut butter Kong are her keys to success when left alone. Nova prefers to be the only furry friend in the home, thriving in a pet-free environment where she feels relaxed and secure. She has had challenges getting along with other dogs in the past, with a bite history involving two incidents. However, she absolutely adores people. Nova is looking for a family that understands her need for affection, patience, and structure. A home with older children and active caregivers who can keep her engaged and loved would be perfect. She has a sensitive stomach and sometimes experiences stress when left alone, but with the right care, she blossoms into a deeply loyal companion. Fully house-trained, crate-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations, Nova is ready to find her new home. If you've been hoping for a loyal shadow who will walk beside you and brighten your days with her loving gaze, Nova may be the girl for you! Ready to welcome Nova into your heart and home?
