Meet Abuelo, affectionately known as Welly. He’s a delightful mix of Golden Retriever and Chow Chow, weighing in at a solid 42 pounds. Welly embodies loyalty and gentleness. Initially hesitant, he has truly come into his own, offering a blend of sweetness and sunshine. This calm companion is a joy to have at home. Completely house trained, Welly peacefully sleeps through the night and enjoys car rides, gentle brushings, and even sits nicely for nail trims. Crate trained yet well-behaved outside of it, he avoids destructive habits. Welly is playful and social, relishing games of fetch, walks, and bond time with his dog buddies. He is great with cats and has formed a sweet friendship with his foster’s young niece. His affectionate nature shines in the companionship he craves—cuddles and head scratches fuel his happiness. While he enjoys his meals, thunderstorms and fireworks unsettle him, requiring some extra love during those times. Welly is nearing the end of his heartworm treatment and is expected to bounce back fully in just a couple of weeks. This beautiful boy, neutered and vaccinated, is looking for a loving home where he can adjust and thrive.
