About Maitake

Meet Maitake! (Yes, like the mushroom—because she’s guaranteed to grow on you!) Maitake takes her time to survey her surroundings before deciding you’re her person. But once you earn her seal of approval, prepare for endless affection. She’s truly a "cat on a motor," and when you start giving her pets, her fluffy engine purrs like a dream. Cold feet at night? Ditch the heating pads. Maitake insists on being your bedtime cuddle bug, sleeping right by your side or sometimes even on top of you every night. When she’s not purring, she’s all about play! Everything that moves becomes a thrilling adventure—whether it’s a feather wand, her own tail, or even her foster sister's. While she takes a moment to warm up to other kitties, she does well with feline friends after a gentle introduction. A patient adopter who can provide a calm transition will be rewarded with a loyal, fluffy, purring companion for life. Ready to add a little extra warmth to your home? Apply to adopt Maitake today!
