About Carissa

Carissa joined the shelter while pregnant and gave birth just a day later. As an incredible mother, she’s dedicated herself to her puppies; now she’s eagerly awaiting a family of her own once they’re weaned. This short-coated beauty, weighing around 65 pounds, has a lovely black coat and an affectionate nature. Carissa is housetrained and has harmonized well with everyone in her foster home. She adores snuggling in bed, often seeking the warmth and closeness of her humans. Carissa is also vigilant, quick to alert you when someone approaches. She’s adaptable, whether you need a running buddy or a cozy companion for movie nights. While not formally tested with kids, her foster family believes her friendly demeanor would make her a delightful addition to a family. Carissa will be spayed and heartworm tested before going to her forever home, but applications are welcome now.
