About Mattie

Mattie is a charming 3-year-old female Labrador Retriever mix with an endearing personality. Rescued from State Route 7 in New Matamoras, Ohio, she was brought to the shelter on July 26, 2026. This lovely girl has a sleek black coat adorned with a large patch of white and black freckles on her chest, white paws, and a sweet face featuring trusting brown eyes and short floppy ears. Initially, Mattie was quite thin at just 22 lbs, but she has since gained weight and now appears much healthier. She has a gentle demeanor, making her the kind of dog you want to cuddle and reassure. While she enjoyed the company of a shelter kitty, she can be selective about her canine friends and had some issues in a previous foster home. Mattie knows commands like 'sit pretty' and 'shake paws,' and she adores attention and treats. She is currently available for foster or foster-to-adopt arrangements, and she will be spayed before her permanent adoption. Mattie deserves a loving home where she can thrive and show just how sweet she can be. Give this lovely girl the chance she deserves! What are you waiting for? Apply today!
