About Nessie
Nessie is an outgoing and affectionate dog who loves being around people. After being found as a stray in North Carolina and making her way north to Connecticut, Nessie settled in quickly and started showing off her social side. She’s a striking Husky/Doberman mix with short, smooth black and white fur and a bushy tail, weighing in around 50 pounds. While she might seem a little shy at first, Nessie warms up fast and looks for connection—she's the kind of dog who leans right in for ear scratches and thrives on attention. She's pretty easygoing compared to some Huskies, but at just a year old, she still needs regular exercise and mental challenges to stay on her best behavior. Nessie is quick to learn, has already crossed off most of her Canine Good Citizen tests, and would likely breeze through more advanced training with an engaged adopter. This dog would do best in an active adult home or a family with older kids who understand what a rescue dog needs. Nessie loves outings, car rides, and being part of whatever’s happening—she isn’t the type to be left in the yard. She’s comfortable with other dogs in the house and adapts well to group play. Her house manners are solid, she’s house and crate trained, and she’s healthy, recently spayed, and up to date on her shots. Nessie is ready for someone who’ll keep her active and included.
