About Nessie
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Nessie is a beautiful, outgoing girl ready to find her place in a loving home. After being found as a stray in North Carolina and making her way north to Connecticut, Nessie is embracing her second chance. With a striking mix of Doberman and Husky, she's a picture of grace with her black and white coat, fluffy plume tail, and expressive brown eyes. Medium-sized and weighing in around 50 pounds, Nessie is easy to groom thanks to her short, smooth coat. While she may be shy at first, it doesn’t take long for her affectionate personality to shine—she adores ear scratches and leans into every gentle touch. Still young at one year old, she has a moderate energy level and will thrive with regular exercise and mental stimulation to keep her happy and balanced. Nessie is incredibly smart, having already completed most of the Canine Good Citizenship tests, and she loves training and learning new things. Her ideal home is an active adult household or a family with older children who understand the needs of a rescue dog. Nessie wants to be at the heart of her new family, included in adventures like hiking, running, and traveling. She has excellent house and crate manners and enjoys spending time with other sociable dogs. While her compatibility with cats is untested, she’s quite sociable overall. Nessie is house trained, recently spayed, and up to date on all her vaccinations and health checks. Like any dog, she may need a little patience as she settles into her new environment, but she offers loyalty, companionship, and enthusiasm in return. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
