About Tonka

Meet Tonka, also known as The Short Stacked King, The Camofaluge Cryptid, and Your Future Problem. This delightful pup likely started life as a breeder dog. After suffering an old leg injury, he was discarded and found his way to a rural South Carolina shelter on March 2nd. By March 9th, he was in foster care and on his path to recovery. Tonka arrived with numerous challenges, including heartworms and a lack of socialization. However, he has since blossomed. This little baked potato has become house-trained, crate-trained, and bonded to his favorite toys, which include Kongs and PupSicles. He’s dog-approved, cat-approved, and kid-approved, demonstrating a strong connection to children. His hobbies involve stealthily stealing one shoe at a time, sprinting around with rolls of toilet paper, and seeking out playful chases. Though he may not have the best cardio due to his brachycephalic nature, he loves to wrestle for a few minutes before dramatically declaring his couch time. Tonka is small in stature but big on love; he values personal contact above all else. Despite his injuries, Tonka is one of the kindest dogs you’ll ever meet. His future family will find joy in everything that is right about him.
