Bird is a young female Lab/Collie mix, medium-sized, with an apricot and beige coat. Though she is spayed and her vaccinations are up to date, she thrives best in a home without children. This intelligent girl is fully house trained and weighs approximately 50 pounds. Living in Vernon, CT, she needs an active companion for her adventures.

About Bird

Bird’s ideal morning kicks off with an energetic round of fetch or an adventurous hike, preferably alongside a canine companion. Once she’s gotten her fill of activity, this affectionate and intelligent girl can chill out, settling in for a peaceful day and a good night’s sleep. Show her some love, and you might just receive one of her signature hugs in return. At just over a year old and weighing around 50 pounds, Bird is a Lab/Collie mix suited for a quieter, more spacious home than what city apartments offer. She thrives around other dogs and would benefit from having a friendly, active resident pup to help boost her confidence. Though she’s generally great with cats, she’s not the best fit for homes with children. Bird can stay home for about three to four hours, especially after a good morning workout. To extend her alone time, having another dog around could help ease her into it. Fully house trained, she has a calm demeanor. However, she needs an experienced, patient adopter who understands that confinement and new guests may trigger some defensive behavior. If you’re seeking a rescue dog with a love for outdoor adventures and companionship, Bird is an excellent match. She is available for transport to the Vernon, CT area and adoption logistics can be arranged to suit. Ready to welcome Bird into your home? Start the journey by applying today!
