About Junie B

Meet sweet Junie B, the adorable mixed-breed dog who captured hearts right away! Rescued just hours before her scheduled euthanasia at a high-kill shelter near Atlanta, she has proven to be a fighter. Though she tested positive for heartworm—common among strays in Georgia—Junie has completed her treatment with minimal side effects. Heartworm isn’t contagious, so other pets are safe around her, but she’ll need to avoid strenuous activity until our vet gives her the all-clear. Junie is an affectionate love bug, eager to be by her humans' side. She gets along well with other dogs and is intrigued by cats, although she's never shown aggression towards them. She’s still getting to know kids, so her experience there is yet to be determined. At about 2 years old and weighing around 50 lbs, Junie is up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. While she can’t be spayed until January—when she’ll be retested for heartworm—she’s crate trained, housebroken, and even knows how to sit and stay. She loves her baths and car rides, though we’re still working on her leash manners since she’s eager to explore the world around her. With beautiful amber eyes, a shiny tan coat, and a vibrant personality, Junie B delights everyone she meets. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
