About Spike

Spike came to the shelter as a stray, which means we don’t know much about his past. He's around 9 to 10 months old and currently weighs 27 lbs. Spike is listed as a mixed breed and has received his DA2PP and bordetella vaccinations. While he hasn't been neutered yet, he's on the waiting list, and if he isn’t neutered before adoption, the fee will include a $75 voucher for that procedure at a vet of your choice. Spike is a charming young dog, though he can be a bit skittish at first. Once he feels comfortable, he shows his affectionate side—one volunteer even had him jump into their lap! He would thrive in a quieter home where he can feel safe and gain confidence. Patience will be key, as Spike is smart and will become a loyal companion with time. As for his house training, we can't confirm if he's trained, so it's best to assume he isn't yet but hope for a pleasant surprise. He has been friendly around other dogs, but we don’t know how he interacts with children or cats. It's a good idea to bring your kids, other dogs, or even cats along for a meet and greet to ensure everyone gets along before making him a part of your family. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
