About Romeo

Meet Romeo! This sweet boy is one of the last three dachshunds from a hoarding situation, and he’s ready for his forever home after making great progress in foster care. At approximately 2 years old and neutered, he weighs around 17 lbs. He has a short coat and has received his first round of vaccinations. Romeo is currently working on potty, crate, and leash training. He gets along well with both dogs and cats, though he may initially be shy and timid around new people and animals. With a little patience, his charming personality begins to shine. His playful spirit makes him quite energetic, so he enjoys outdoor time observing wildlife, like the peacocks at his foster home. Though he's not fully house trained yet, he’s a dedicated learner. Keep in mind he’s incredibly food motivated and benefits from slow feeders to help pace his meals. His loving nature shines through with his snuggles and affectionate kisses. If you think Romeo could be the right fit for your family, text 954-789-7850 to start the application process!

Romeo, being a small-sized dachshund, doesn’t need vast outdoor spaces; a small yard or regular walks in the neighborhood will keep him happy.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

While Romeo hasn’t spent extensive time with young children, he should do well with them given his gentle nature. Supervision during initial interactions would be best.
