About Scout
Scout is a handsome adult male Yellow Labrador Retriever, around 5 years old, who was found by one of the covered bridges on State Route 26 near Marietta, Ohio. After being brought to safety on September 28, 2026, he wore a collar with his name but no tags, and efforts to locate his owner through a microchip were unsuccessful. Scout has a short, yellow/ivory coat, a long tail, and a sweet expression highlighted by his dark brown eyes and black button nose. His left eye is cloudy, indicating possible impaired vision in that eye. Weighing in at around 50 lbs, Scout has proven to be friendly, getting along well with cats and small dogs during his time with a foster family. While he enjoys being outside and needs room to run, he can be reactive to men and may struggle with separation anxiety if confined. Returned to HSOV shortly after beginning his foster journey, Scout is now in search of a new forever home where he will thrive and become a loyal companion. With some basic commands under his belt, Scout will benefit from an experienced owner who can provide the guidance and structure he needs. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
