About Dewey
Dewey is a charming dog currently in a foster home, not in the shelter. Everyone thinks he’s a Black Labrador Retriever mix, and it’s easy to see why with his soft, stunning black coat that could make anyone envious. At about 1.5 years old and weighing around 50 pounds, he radiates affection. Dewey loves to lean in for cuddles, lie beside you, or even curl up on your lap. His gentle nature shines through as he interacts with both children and adults, keeping calm even in bustling settings, eagerly inviting pets from anyone who walks by. Surprisingly relaxed for a young dog, Dewey displays none of the usual puppy antics like jumping or biting. He enjoys playing with his toys or a ball but is equally content exploring the yard before settling down inside. His crate training is going well; he enters his crate easily and often naps inside while his foster mom works. With no accidents in the crate and a housebroken status, he has mastered both aspects well. Dewey gets along with other dogs but prefers to coexist rather than engage in heavy play. He can interact when the moment calls for it but is content to keep things mellow otherwise. He is looking for a home without cats or small dogs under 30 pounds. If a sweet, playful companion who thrives on affection sounds right for you, Dewey could be the perfect match. Contact his foster for a meet to see if you both click!
