About Mochi

Meet Mochi! A spirited nine-and-a-half-year-old Golden Retriever in Monson, MA, Mochi is a delightful bundle of energy, wrapped in a softly golden coat and fueled by a love for his people. Weighing in at around 75 pounds, he enjoys every moment spent on fun-filled activities. Whether it's fetching balls, swimming, or going on adventures, Mochi is always eager to join the fun. Despite his age, he keeps himself fit and still enjoys long play sessions followed by cozy downtime with his favorite humans. Smart and eager to please, Mochi knows his basic commands and even shows off by rolling over. He is house-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. His love for food is matched only by his enthusiasm for outdoor play. However, he has a history of resource guarding, so it's essential for his future caregivers to manage his food and maintain a tidy environment. His current guardian can share proven strategies for handling these situations. Mochi thrives in a home without young children, though he gets along well with respectful school-age kids and adults. Living harmoniously with a cat, he can be picky with dogs, especially larger, assertive males, so he would prefer not to share space with strong personalities. A securely fenced yard would allow him to enjoy the outdoors safely. This athletic Golden Retriever also reacts strongly to animals on TV, so it's best if he leaves the room during those moments. For a thoughtful, active family prepared to manage his food boundaries, Mochi offers unmatched loyalty, companionship, and plenty of laughter.
