About Bear
Meet Bear! This spirited three-year-old Great Pyrenees mix is currently hanging out in Youngsville, NC. Bear, with his fluffy white coat, is a lovable goofball packed with the instincts of a dedicated guardian. He weighs about 70 pounds and takes his security duties seriously. Strangers and unexpected visitors can make him uneasy, so he needs slow, thoughtful introductions to new people. But once youβre in Bearβs trusted circle, he reveals his softer side. He loves rolling over for belly rubs, showcasing his toys, and enjoys a good bully stick while being a loyal companion. Bear is smart and knows commands such as sit, down, stay, and come. He loves car rides and outdoor adventures while maintaining medium energy levels. House-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, Bear also sheds quite a bit, so regular brushing is part of the deal. He may have allergies to chicken and gets behavioral medication to help him manage his anxiety. Bear has a history with fearful reactions. He has nipped when scared and has been known to react to strangers, so an experienced owner is essential for his continued behavior modification through positive reinforcement. He does better in a quieter, adult-only home with a fenced yard and limited visitor traffic. Bear can be selective with dogs; he gets along with some but not all. His compatibility with cats remains a mystery. If you have a calm, structured environment and the experience to provide Bear the guidance he needs, he will bring intelligence, loyalty, playfulness, and a whole lot of fluff into your life.
