About Mochi

Meet Mochi! This spirited nine-and-a-half-year-old Golden Retriever is currently residing in Amherst, MA. Mochi embodies enthusiasm and athleticism, wrapped in a swoon-worthy golden coat. Weighing in at 75 pounds, he’s a loyal, affectionate boy who thrives on fun. Whether it’s playing fetch, swimming, or embarking on car rides, Mochi is always ready for an adventure. Despite his age, he’s in great shape and tackles each activity with impressive zeal. When the fun winds down, he enjoys relaxing with his people. Mochi is smart and eager to learn, having received formal obedience training. He knows his basic commands and can even roll over to entertain. He’s house-trained, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. Daily joint supplements and green beans in his meals help with weight management, though this enthusiastic foodie has a knack for loving his meals a bit too much! Food management is essential due to a history of resource guarding; he’s bitten when food was taken away but did not require medical attention. Mochi thrives best with caregivers who understand this and can keep food secured. He would do best in a home with respectful school-age children and adults. While he gets along well with a cat, he can be selective with dogs, particularly larger males, so having a secure, fenced yard will be ideal for his activities. Mochi also reacts strongly to animals on television, so managing his environment regarding this sensitivity is vital. For a thoughtful and active family ready to provide boundaries around his food, Mochi promises loyalty, companionship, and joy. Could he be the golden adventure buddy you’ve been searching for?
