About Payton

Payton is a vibrant one-year-old male German Shepherd mix who weighs 72 pounds. This friendly guy came to us as a stray and is eager for a fresh start. He enjoys the simple pleasures of life, like spending time outdoors with his favorite humans, playing fetch, and impressing everyone with his intelligence for treats. Payton has already mastered commands like sit and drop it, and is diligently working on paw. Affectionate by nature, he loves to nuzzle against you for some pets. To thrive, Payton needs a home that can provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He enjoys sunbathing with tennis balls and unwinding with a cream cheese-filled Kong. Although initially shy around new people, especially in unfamiliar situations, he warms up nicely with kindness and tasty treats. Payton prefers to be the only dog in the household, so he can soak up all the love and attention. Due to his excitable nature, a home with teens or older residents would suit him best. If you're ready to meet Payton and see if you could be his forever home, visit the shelter on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays from 12-4pm.
