Dee is a male Shepherd mix, approximately 4-5 months old. He has a medium coat, weighs around 20-25 lbs, and sports a golden and red chestnut color. Dee is not house trained yet but is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He is in Elgin, TX and needs a nurturing family to help him grow into a well-rounded dog.

About Dee

Meet Dee! This handsome boy is around 4 to 5 months old and currently weighs approximately 20 to 25 lbs. While it’s tricky to predict his full-grown size, we suspect he’ll be a larger dog, likely hitting the 50+ lb mark. Dee is labeled a Shepherd mix, but he could easily have some Golden Retriever or Lab in him as well. It's tough to nail down exact breeds, especially with young rescue pups. Dee was found roaming with his siblings and ended up at a shelter waiting for someone to claim them since September. Despite his uncertain past, he's a happy young pup with plenty of potential. He’s still learning about the world, so a caring family to help him transition from shelter life will be essential. The ideal adopter will commit to ongoing potty training, basic obedience, socialization, and establishing a consistent routine. With his playful personality, Dee thrives in environments that keep him physically and mentally active. He enjoys playing with other dogs and would likely do well with a canine companion. However, he can also thrive as the only dog if his family provides enough attention and socialization opportunities. While Dee hasn’t been tested with cats, a home with a cat could work with a patient adopter. He has limited exposure to kids and may do best in a home with older, respectful children who can handle a young dog’s energy. Ideally, Dee would love a yard to play in, preferably secure and fenced. However, he's adaptable, and apartments may work too if his exercise needs are met consistently. Adopting a puppy like Dee is a long-term commitment that includes raising him into the adult dog he will become. With the right structure, training, and lots of love, Dee has all the makings of an incredible lifelong companion. He’s been waiting in a crowded shelter, and now it’s time for him to find a loving home. Currently, Dee is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and on preventative care.
