About Zara

Zara is a gentle, sweet five-year-old Miniature Bull Terrier weighing around 35 lbs. This resilient girl has faced more than any dog should, having been found as a stray on a porch in the sweltering summer heat, starving and exhausted. She bravely returned to the same spot, hoping for help, but animal control was called instead. Fortunately, just before she was to be euthanized, Maggie Lu’s Safe Haven Rescue rescued her. Zara has undergone eye surgery and had a mast cell tumor removed, all while remaining trusting and affectionate. She’s fantastic with people of all ages, including babies, and is dog-friendly. Not to mention, she is crate and potty trained, spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccines. Zara enjoys snuggling on the couch and basking in the sun, just wanting to be close to her people. She continues to build her confidence and would adore a patient, loving family to show her that she is safe at last. After all she has been through, it’s time for Zara to find her forever home.
