About Winnie
Meet Winnie! This affectionate 2-year-old Yorkie mix weighs about 11 lbs and is the epitome of a velcro dog, always shadowing her foster parent. She adores belly rubs, cuddles, and lap time, making her a great companion. Winnie came to us as a stray from BARC Animal Shelter, looking scared and matted. After some grooming and a few weeks in a loving foster home, she now radiates happiness. She's friendly with everyone she meets, including kids, and she did wonderfully during a recent family gathering. Whether taking car rides or going for walks, Winnie stays close to her person and is curious about her surroundings. She enjoys playing fetch, although she’s still getting the hang of bringing the toy back. Winnie is food-motivated and loves to chew, which makes her training a bit easier. While she’s working on potty training and uses both the yard and puppy pads, she’ll thrive in a household that can help her settle into being alone. Winnie tends to bark when crated but calms down once her person returns, especially if they cuddle her outside afterward. She hasn't had much interaction with other dogs yet in her foster home, so we’re still learning about that aspect of her. Winnie is heartworm negative and has been spayed. She would really flourish in a home where someone is around most of the time to help her adjust. Winnie is your girl! She’s ready to find her forever home! Ready to fall in love?
