About Luna

Meet Luna—a gentle soul looking for her forever home. This affectionate girl is a 2-3-year-old female Shepherd mix, weighing about 57 lbs. Once on the euthanasia list in a high-kill shelter in South Texas, Luna's life took a turn for the better when a caring group rescued her, giving her a second chance. In her sanctuary home, she blossomed from a terrified pup into the loving companion she is today. Luna is calm and a little shy initially, but with patience, she becomes your loyal shadow. She loves affection, pets, and lounging with her people, but she enjoys the outdoors too, hopping around with excitement when she's ready to come inside. Luna gets along with other dogs and is accommodating with cats, making her a versatile addition to any home. Her sweet disposition shines through in her motherly nature; she took a young dog named Robin under her wing and has cared for him lovingly. While Luna is not suited for a chaotic household, she thrives in quieter environments that respect her gentle nature. She is mostly house trained and crate trained, needs some reminders as she adjusts, and enjoys car rides where she typically naps through them. Luna dreams of a peaceful home with a yard, where she can relax and enjoy all the love she deserves after her tough start. She needs gentle and patient people who understand her transition. If you're ready to share plenty of affection and have a loyal companion by your side, Luna could be the perfect fit for you. Every animal deserves a happy ending, and this one starts with you.
