About Antler
Antler is on the hunt for a very special forever home, so please read her entire bio carefully before applying. This spayed female is an energetic German Shepherd and Malinois mix, weighing in at about 40 lbs. Antler arrived from a Texas shelter where she spent over 45 days, and she quickly showed her kind-hearted, ingenious personality. Highly food motivated, she thrives on positive reinforcement. However, Antler can become overstimulated easily, requiring a calm and patient owner who can provide safe outlets for her energy. She tends to react when frustrated, so she needs proactive guidance through her emotional processing. While she is friendly with dogs given proper introductions and supervision, she cannot live with toy-sized dogs or cats, nor should she be around dominant dogs. Antler is working on her leash manners and overall behavior, becoming quite the learner when it comes to toys and bones. Though she’s jumpy when excited, she is not recommended for homes with children under 10. She enjoys car rides and behaves well at the vet. This smart pup requires an experienced owner ready to invest time in training. A fenced yard is a must for her safety and playtime. Antler is crate trained and has no accidents in her crate; she benefits from having it covered with a blanket to reduce stimulation. Antler’s adoption fee is $600, and she comes spayed, microchipped with lifetime registration, up-to-date on core vaccinations, heartworm negative, and current on her preventatives.
