About Shadow

Meet Shadow! Shadow is an 11.5-year-old Chihuahua mix with a ton of character. He came to us facing some tough challenges, battling allergies and a painful skin infection, but he’s healing beautifully and regaining his zest for life. With his fur starting to grow back, he’s showing off his vibrant personality. Shadow has discovered the joy of toys and enjoys the occasional zoomies around the yard. While he loves being around people, he prefers to observe from a distance, making him the perfect blend of couch potato and playful companion. Currently in a foster home with other small dogs, Shadow gets along well as long as they respect his space. He isn’t fond of medium-sized dogs, so he’d thrive alongside another smaller, mature dog who understands the importance of personal boundaries. He shows little interest in cats, occasionally giving them a sniff without further engagement. House and crate trained, Shadow enjoys curling up in a cozy donut bed for a peaceful nap. He walks nicely on a leash but has his opinions about being picked up and veterinary care, particularly nail trims. An adopter who appreciates a senior dog's boundaries would be ideal for him. We believe this gentle soul would do best in a calm environment, ideally with older, responsible children or no kids at all.
