Gina is an 8-month-old spayed female Belgian Malinois mix currently in a foster home in Houston, TX. She weighs around 56 lbs and is ready to find a loving family that will give her the attention and activity she craves. Rescued as a tiny puppy, Gina’s early life wasn’t easy. She was found abandoned in a cardboard box near a busy road. Thankfully, she’s come a long way and loves the company of her small dog siblings, often initiating games of tug-of-war. While she enjoys playing with them, Gina is a bit cautious around larger dogs and needs gradual introductions, having had a tough experience in the past. She’s also not suited for a home with cats due to her enthusiastic nature around them. Gina thrives on human interaction and aspires to be an active companion. She’s playful, smart, and loves a good toy collection, happily engaging in fetch or entertaining herself with play. We recommend a home with older children (10 and up) who understand dog behavior, as she can be a bit jumpy when excited. Currently crate trained, Gina can stay in her crate for up to 8 hours without accidents. She walks well on a leash and is making great strides in her house training journey. Gina will need a family ready to commit to her exercise, socialization, and training needs.
