This 2.5-year-old, 70-pound neutered male Pit Bull Terrier is currently in a foster home in Austin, Texas and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up. Frankie's journey began in a tough situation—he and his sister were found tied up in the yard of an elderly man after being left behind. Since then, Frankie has been learning to trust again. Initially shy, his sweet and affectionate nature emerges once he feels secure. He enjoys being near those he trusts, quietly seeking comfort. Living with four other large dogs, he’s gradually building confidence; he’s starting to engage in tug-of-war or cardboard-shredding play. While he tends to watch from the sidelines, he has found joy in these moments and doesn’t display aggression. His cautious behavior shows he prefers to retreat when unsure. While Frankie hasn’t met cats or children, his foster believes he would thrive in a calm home with older kids who respect his boundaries. He needs a patient environment to help him gain confidence. House training has gone smoothly with no accidents reported. He adapts well when left alone in a room and is learning leash manners. A securely fenced yard is ideal, as he has shown some escapist tendencies. Frankie travels well but can find new spaces intimidating, often opting for his bed until he feels comfortable. He gets along famously with other dogs, making him a perfect candidate for a home with a calm canine companion.
