About Smoke

Smoke is a striking young male Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix who found his way to the HSOV after charming a family in Little Hocking, Ohio. Arriving at the shelter on September 19th, 2026, he wasn’t microchipped or wearing a collar, but he quickly captured hearts with his friendly nature. With a short black-and-white coat adorned with lovely blue ticking, long legs, and a long tail, he presents a classic Blue Heeler appearance, complete with a symmetrical face, brown eyes, and large erect ears. Initially a bit shy, Smoke transformed into a social butterfly while exploring the shelter. He eagerly greeted everyone in the lobby before playfully jumping onto the sofa for some photo ops. His photogenic qualities are hard to miss, making him a joy to capture on camera! Although he hasn’t been weighed yet, he could use a little weight to complement his slim physique. As per Ohio law, Smoke will stay at the shelter for a mandatory three-day stray hold, giving his family a chance to reclaim him with ownership proof. Click apply to start the adoption process.
