About Ernie
Meet Ernie, an 8-year-old male Pittie/Cattle Dog mix who’s ready to steal your heart. He’s a neutered gentleman weighing around 63 lbs, currently enjoying life in a foster home in Houston, TX. Ernie’s journey began when he was rescued from a busy street, clearly loved before but unfortunately abandoned. Despite his past, he’s a social, loving dog who thrives on companionship. Ernie is a mellow fellow with a playful spirit; he enjoys a good walk and is eager to make new friends. He’s friendly with everyone he meets, both humans and dogs — he even gets along well with his foster sibling, a little Aussie. While he hasn’t had direct interactions with kids, he displays a gentle demeanor that suggests he would adapt well to a home with them, provided they understand his larger size. House trained and great on a leash, Ernie does have a preference for being close to his humans and isn't fond of being crated. While he may whine initially, he quickly calms down with some reassurance. This charming dog is looking for a forever home that can embrace his affectionate nature. He has plenty of love to give and is ready to be a part of a family once again. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
