About Ruger

Ruger is a resilient Rottweiler mix currently thriving in a foster home in Lavon, TX. Weighing between 65 and 70 lbs, he’s about 2 to 3 years old and is neutered. Ruger was found on the streets, abandoned and trying to survive the harsh Texas heat alongside his buddy Rudy. Despite facing danger from packs of dogs, he stood his ground to protect Rudy, showcasing his loyal and courageous nature. Now safe, Ruger has fully recovered from his wounds and is eager to enjoy life indoors. He loves being close to people, receiving affection, and, of course, getting regular meals. This handsome fellow is friendly with both male and female dogs, but he has not been tested with cats. Although a bit shy at first, he warms up quickly once trust is established. Ruger is crate trained and house trained, showing medium energy levels. He walks well on a leash, enjoys cuddle time on the couch, and has no issues riding in the car. He would thrive best in a home with a fenced yard, making him less suited for apartment living. Ruger would be happy with a family that includes school-aged children, or he would also fit well with singles or couples who can provide daily love and attention.
