About Chester

Meet Chester! This calm three-year-old Domestic Short Hair is currently residing in Amherst, MA. Wrapped in a handsome orange and white tabby coat, Chester has a gentle spirit and an impressive knack for turning any available lap into his favorite resting spot. Weighing about 12 pounds, he's a medium-sized boy with a wonderfully affectionate personality. In the comfort of familiar surroundings, Chester is social and cuddly, eager to be part of whatever his people are up to. His purr appears to have a never-ending supply of energy, especially during snuggle time. Visitors will often find him leaping onto the couch, ready to settle in for a cozy moment. Picking him up is a joy, and attention is something he thrives on, viewing sleeping as a delightful pastime. Chester has an amusing quirk; he gets puzzled by glass. Life with this sweet tabby may include some entertaining moments as he contemplates the transparent barriers that pop up in his world. While Chester is confident and loving, he can feel uneasy in unfamiliar places. New environments, vet visits, or even a carrier can evoke a defensive side. His new pet parent should be prepared for a quiet, patient transition of about two weeks to let him explore and adjust at his own pace. Chester is great with kids and is gentle with children of all ages. When it comes to other cats, he takes a neutral stance, not seeking them out but not minding their company either. His compatibility with dogs isn’t established, so careful introductions would be key if dogs are part of his future family. Neutered and up to date on vaccinations, Chester is ready for a new chapter filled with cozy naps, couch companion moments, steady purrs, and, of course, plenty of snuggling!
