About Taz
Meet Taz. Taz is a 5-year-old mixed-breed dog, weighing around 45 pounds, who has spent too long waiting for his forever home. Rescued from a challenging hoarding situation in Ensenada, Mexico, where he faced confinement for up to 23 hours a day, Taz developed anxiety about being crated and left alone. Yet beneath that anxiety lies a loving and loyal companion who craves closeness with his humans. A chill guy at heart, Taz enjoys attention, playing with toys, and snuggling on the couch. While he likes to go for walks, he's not the type to keep up with an active runner or hiker; Taz is simply happy enjoying life at a comfortable pace. Taz thrives with dog friends and has recently formed a bond with another dog. Their relationship has helped him relax more, making him a great playmate for a calm or moderately playful dog. However, he's also perfectly content as the only dog if he gets plenty of human attention. Crate time is tough for Taz; he may get anxious and bark. Still, he's shown progress, voluntarily going into his crate at home. What Taz needs is someone patient who understands that building confidence takes time. A home where someone works from home or is around frequently would be ideal. After years in rescue, Taz deserves a chance to be part of a loving home where he can thrive. His adoption fee is $200 and covers his neutering and vaccinations. He doesn’t need a perfect setup, just a kind heart willing to help him flourish. Ready to meet Taz?
