Meet Rusty. Rusty is a 2-year-old, 50 lb Australian Cattle Dog mix with a gentle soul and a playful side. He’s on a journey of growth, revealing the sweet and silly boy that he truly is. Having faced some challenges early on, Rusty can be a bit shy in new situations, but with each passing day, he's learning to trust and embrace life a little more each time. Watching him wag his tail and play with toys is a heartwarming sight. Rusty enjoys the company of other dogs and would do best in a home with a confident dog buddy to guide him. He loves puzzle and chew toys, along with chicken treats and the occasional Squishmallow. While he is timid around new people and environments, he avoids aggression and is gaining confidence through patience and positive reinforcement. He’s already making great strides in leash walking, crate training, and potty training. Rusty walks well on a leash and lives peacefully with both dogs and cats. He’s best suited for older children who understand his shy nature and can give him the time he needs to come out of his shell. An active and patient home will help him thrive.
