Zoey
AvailableZoey is a large, spayed female Akita currently located in Sumter, SC. She is house trained and up to date on vaccinations. About Zoey
Meet Zoey! This Akitaβs journey began under unfortunate circumstances. She was initially acquired for breeding but resisted, leading to her being abandoned in a high-kill shelter in the Carolinas. After numerous Akita rescues declined to help, our rescue stepped in when she arrived, brimming with fear and distrust from past abuse. With patience and care, she learned to embrace love and trust. Zoey needs to be the only dog in her new home, as she does not get along with other dogs. She also requires a cat-free environment and is best suited for homes with children over 12. While she tends to prefer women, she can warm up to men with time. Zoey is a sensitive soul who shows fear aggression around power tools, hinting at her past trauma. This brave girl deserves a loving home where she can be treated like royalty. If you believe you can provide the supportive and safe environment she needs, Zoey is ready to return that love tenfold. The adoption fee is $450, which includes transport to the Midwest, Northeast, or Southeast. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
