About Zoey

Meet Zoey! This beautiful Akita was supposed to be bred but had other ideas and was sadly dumped at a high-kill shelter in the Carolinas. After repeated pleas from various rescues to save her and her mate, our organization stepped in when no one else would. Zoey came to us in a distressed state, angry and unsocialized, showing signs of abuse. With love and patience, Zoey transformed over a few months. She thrives in a stable environment where she is the only dog—Zoey does not get along with other dogs, nor is she suitable for homes with cats or children under 12. She tends to prefer women and can be cautious around new people. It’s important to note that she exhibits fear aggression toward power tools, a reflection of her past experiences. Zoey is ready for her forever home, where she can be treated like the queen she is. If you have the love and patience to give her the new chance she deserves, she will quickly return that love tenfold. Is it you? What are you waiting for? Apply today!
