Meet Hershey! This 11-month-old, 20-lb Terrier mix has a huge heart and a unique personality. Each step of his journey has been a testimony to resilience; when he first arrived, he was terrified of people. After about a week of patience, he began to trust his foster, and now he's a completely different dog, filled with happiness and confidence. Hershey thrives in the company of other dogs and finds encouragement in their presence. He adores playing with his furry friends and prefers a home with another friendly, confident dog. With his trusted humans, he’s incredibly sweet—enjoying cuddles, scratches, and lazy lounge time. Sometimes, he even rests his head on you, showcasing his affectionate side. However, keep in mind that he’s fearful of strangers and tends to be shy around new people, needing space to come out of his shell at his own pace. Having a patient adopter is crucial for Hershey’s progress; the bond he builds with trust is truly rewarding. While he’s not a vocal pup, Hershey does have a playful streak, occasionally sneaking away with shoes. His house training is a work in progress, needing consistent reinforcement, but he’s learning. A moderate exercise routine of about 30 minutes suits him well, followed by quality couch time. Hershey would flourish in a home that values patience and understanding, offering him the chance to shine alongside a canine companion.
