He has made significant progress since arriving in his foster home, but his journey has included some serious neurological challenges. Initially, he displayed concerning symptoms like a severe head tilt, circling, and random vocalizations. While infectious encephalitis has been ruled out, his condition remains under investigation for possible autoimmune issues or other neurological concerns. Currently, Gadget is responding well to a treatment plan involving prednisone, gabapentin, and amantadine. His head tilt has completely disappeared, and as he continues to improve, his neurologist is comfortable tapering his prednisone dose. Gadget requires regular vet check-ups to monitor his health and medication side effects. Despite his challenges, Gadget is an affectionate boy who thrives with a consistent routine and a gentle approach. He enjoys the company of other dogs in his foster home and has become comfortable exploring the backyard without a harness.
