About Skittles

Meet Skittles, a sleek and beautiful grey-and-white tabby girl with a playful spirit and a serious love for snacks. Though she arrived in rescue with her lively littermates, Skittles is making wonderful progress as she learns to trust people. While she can be a bit wary of being touched or held, she’s starting to enjoy lounging next to her humans and accepting gentle petting—until she suddenly remembers that, gasp, she’s being touched! One of the best ways to win Skittles’ heart is through her favorite treats. She adores Churu treats and freeze-dried minnows and won’t hesitate to let you know when it’s time for a snack. Don’t be surprised if you catch her quietly watching you from the couch, waiting for her turn at being the Treat Dispenser. Skittles does great with other cats and enjoys their company. You might find her cuddled up with the older male resident cat in her foster home, and she’s also good with dogs. However, her playful nature means she still thinks hands and feet are toys; as a result, she wouldn’t be ideal for a home with young children. Skittles needs an understanding adopter who will help her channel her kitten energy adequately and gently guide her to see that hands are for loving, not pouncing. She’s already showcasing how far she’s come with the right encouragement. Skittles is looking for a patient home where she can continue to build confidence, enjoy playtime, and share the wonderful bond that awaits with a person who understands her journey.
