About Kodiak
Meet Kodiak! This charming male is a 6-year-old German Shepherd mixed breed who has a passion for water. If there’s a lake, pond, or even a puddle around, he’ll be the first to jump in and make a splash. He thrives in an active environment and would love to join a family that shares his enthusiasm for outdoor adventures. Kodiak is not just playful; he's incredibly affectionate and has been a cherished member of his previous family, which included four children of various ages. They describe him as a loving companion with a vibrant energy that lights up any room. He’s crate trained and showcases excellent manners at home, enjoys car rides, and walks well on a leash. Kodiak knows commands like sit, shake, and down, and his favorite activities include fetching tennis balls and playing tug-of-war. While he can be protective and will bark to alert you of new visitors, he quickly calms down once reassured. He has experience living with another large dog but may be selective about unfamiliar dogs, so a meet and greet is recommended. Kodiak’s relationship with cats is yet to be determined. This loving, spirited dog is ready for an active family who will include him in their daily lives and give him plenty of playtime and exercise. Bring your whole family and any resident dogs to meet Kodiak. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and let’s get started.
