Meet Nova, a gentle 7-year-old mixed-breed girl, who weighs around 45 pounds and is ready to find a loving home that will help her continue to blossom. Nova is dog social and thrives in environments where her personal space is respected. She flourishes with patience and can benefit from a dog-savvy companion of similar size. With the help of Monadnock Humane Society, you can determine if she’s compatible with your current dog. Although she might be fearful in new situations, Nova has made impressive strides since arriving at the shelter. Initially quite scared, she now enjoys affection, particularly chin and neck scratches, and has become more comfortable meeting strangers. During a recent veterinary exam in an outdoor setting, she did wonderfully, showing her playful side by enjoying fetch between exam parts. Currently, there are no known experiences with cats or children, so those dynamics remain to be explored. Nova is a healthy, affectionate girl who needs a calm and patient family to help her build confidence at her own pace. With time, she could become an incredibly rewarding companion.
