Meet Roo! Roo’s journey began at a high-kill shelter in Houston, where she arrived after being found in a park with her two puppies. One of them was already six months old and the other just six weeks. This sweet girl has clearly been through a lot and deserves a chance at a loving home. Now that she’s out of that situation, you’ll see that Roo is simply wonderful. She’s sweet, affectionate, and easygoing, with a deep love for people. Cuddling and bonding with her humans are among her favorite pastimes. Roo is definitely not an alpha; she’s submissive and would thrive with a friendly dog companion in her forever home. Impressively well-mannered, she uses the dog door to potty, sleeps on her dog bed, and can be trusted to roam the house without chewing up your belongings. That’s a big win! However, she does not get along with cats, so a cat-free household is essential. Though she can be nervous in the car, we believe with the right exposure and experiences, Roo will begin to see car rides as fun adventures rather than something to fear. What Roo truly desires is a family who will include her in their lives, taking her on explorations and letting her curl up at their side afterward. Roo is about 1-2 years old and has the heart of a vibrant young dog. She is currently completing heartworm treatment but is expected to be ready for her forever home by late September.
