Dodger is a small, male baby Catahoula mix currently in Santa Cruz, CA. He’s been altered and is looking for a loving home where he can continue to heal and grow. While he’s still perfecting his puppy skills, he’s ready to learn and bond with the right family.

About Dodger

Meet Dodger, a 3-month-old Catahoula mix pup. He came to the shelter as a stray and was found with a rubber band tied around the base of his tail, which led to an amputation. Currently recovering, he’s in a cone of shame and needs some quiet time while his stitches heal. Dodger has already shown his sweet nature during his time at the shelter. Even while he was feeling under the weather, he remained social and sought attention from everyone around him. This puppy still has some typical puppy skills to develop, like potty training and leash walking, so adopters should ensure they can provide the time, resources, and training he needs to thrive. He’ll need some space from any resident dogs to rest and heal properly. A thoughtful introduction to any children or cats is recommended. If you’re ready for the commitment of a delightful, loving companion, Dodger is waiting for you to help him grow into a wonderful adult dog. Click apply to start the adoption process.
