About Puna

Puna is a 2-year-old, 44-pound Heeler mix with striking white markings, a beautiful snow-fox tail, and an adorable snaggletooth that adds to her charm. Having recently finished raising her puppies, she’s eager to embark on her own adventures and find her soulmate to bond with. This sweet and loyal companion is not just affectionate but highly intelligent and athletic. She seeks a human who will be the center of her world. Once you’ve earned her trust, she’ll watch you closely, responding beautifully to your cues. Puna enjoys a range of activities—from hiking and beach outings to playing fetch and solving puzzle toys. Yet, she’s also content to curl up for cozy nap sessions indoors. On the leash, Puna is a model walker, maintaining a relaxed and slack line. She’s house-trained, enjoys car rides, and has a medium level of energy that allows her to settle down easily. In her foster home, she has become a confident and curious pup who generally gets along well with other dogs, preferring gentle play over rough wrestling. However, she can exhibit a bit of jealousy towards her person and may redirect another dog who gets too close. Her strong prey drive means she might not be the best fit for homes with free-ranging chickens or ducks. Still, she has shown a calming demeanor around cats and kittens. Puna is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. She’s currently fostered in Mount Vernon, WA. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
