Meet Denver! This handsome blue boy, a 9-month-old neutered male Weimaraner, is brimming with personality and energy. Denver thrives on playtime and joyfully runs around, relishing car rides and, of course, meals. He’s housebroken and adeptly uses a doggy door, giving him freedom to come and go as he pleases. Though still a puppy, he’s making strides in understanding his manners. Previous challenges like chewing and jumping have improved remarkably. Denver has received basic training and is eager to keep learning. He's familiar with commands like sit and place and is currently mastering leave it. He’s still a work in progress with leash training and benefits from structure and continued exercise. A great companion for running or agility sports, he requires a dedicated owner to help build his confidence. Denver has some separation anxiety, so an ideal home would have someone around frequently to support him in feeling secure. He’s starting on medication for this, which is helping. Although he loves being in the car, he sometimes forgets that the front seat isn’t his designated spot. He enjoys playing with the other dog in his foster home and might thrive best alongside a high-energy canine companion or in doggy daycare to satisfy his playful spirit. While he hasn’t been around cats, his energetic nature makes it unlikely that he’d fit well with them. Denver has shown bed-guarding tendencies but is learning to sleep in his own space. He’s very food motivated, which aids training, but his excitement about food means he isn't suited for a home with young children. Denver is fully vetted and ready to find his forever family. He needs patience, consistency, and lots of love. In the right hands, this fun-loving Weimaraner will become a loyal companion with plenty of affection to share.
