About Otto in TN

Otto is a distinguished Chiweenie, a blend of Dachshund and Chihuahua, who is looking for a new beginning in life. At nearly 14 years old, he brings a calm, sweet spirit to every moment. Otto was recently rescued from a heartbreaking situation where he lost his longtime companion in a difficult circumstance. Thankfully, he was reunited with the rescue that originally adopted him out, and he is now ready for a loving home. This charming guy thrives on companionship. He enjoys following his humans around the house and yard and has a gentle demeanor that makes him a joy to have nearby. Otto is house trained and crate trained, and he is also leash trained, making walks a pleasant experience. He has lived successfully with both dogs and cats. However, Otto would do best in a home without young children; he prefers a peaceful environment with kids aged 10 and up who can respect his space. An ideal setting would include a fenced yard for him to explore safely. Otto does need to shed a few pounds—about three, to be precise—but his overall health is solid. Despite losing most of his teeth over the years, he manages just fine with one canine left. He is looking for a compassionate adopter who understands the nuances of caring for a senior dog, preferably someone with another small senior dog. If you’re ready to give Otto that well-deserved forever home, reach out to the All American Dachshund Rescue and begin the process today!
