About Gruffi

Meet Gruffi, a lively and sociable brown brindle pittie mix who came to the shelter as a stray. Found by the California Highway Patrol along the freeway with a puppy, Gruffi has been a joy to staff and volunteers since his arrival. Typical for a young pup, he can get a bit mouthy when excited, so having appropriate toys handy will help redirect his enthusiasm. Gruffi has enjoyed the company of other dogs, playing and zooming around with a female mix after some warm-up time. A dog in the home could be a good fit following a meet-and-greet at the shelter. Adopters should be patient as Gruffi is still learning essential skills like potty training and leash walking. With positive reinforcement, time, and a good sense of humor, he’s sure to become a beloved companion. Gruffi is currently available for pre-adoption and will be ready for his new home after neuter surgery. Don’t miss your chance to meet him at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter.
