About Dax
Dax has had a tough journey, finding himself at the shelter multiple times. He was one of four dogs owned by a couple living in their car, often tied outside, which led to frequent strays being picked up by animal control or by concerned individuals. This time, Dax managed to escape that life, finding refuge with our rescue instead. Around 2 years old, Dax is a small beagle mix weighing approximately 24 pounds. His tri-colored coat showcases classic beagle markings, predominantly black and white, adorned with speckled black spots. While his beagle traits shine through, there's a hint of something else—perhaps Australian cattle dog or Jack Russell Terrier. Initially, Dax struggled with trust, but away from the shelter, he revealed an affectionate side, getting along well with both kids and other dogs. With time and patience, his true, playful spirit emerges. He loves belly rubs, snuggling, and even quickly made himself at home by hopping into bed beside his foster. Dax enjoys leash walks and car rides and isn't shy about expressing himself—especially when he wants attention or someone to share their food. Dax has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, ready for his forever home. He deserves a chance to thrive and be the loving companion he longs to be.
