About Liberty
Meet Liberty! This lovely girl found herself in a high-kill Houston shelter with her five-day-old puppies, facing the euthanasia list six times before a foster heroically stepped in to save them. Liberty raised her puppies in the safety of a foster home, and happily, each one has found their forever home. Now, it’s Mama Liberty's time to shine. At two years old, Liberty is a 40-pound Cattle Dog with a balanced medium energy level. She relishes playing, going for daily walks, and occasionally breaking into zoomies, but she also appreciates quiet moments with her people. Liberty loves being close by, subtly moving towards you for head scratches or belly rubs without being overly demanding. Potty trained and currently learning kennel training, she’s making good progress after her initial role as a mother to her pups. Liberty gets along well with other dogs but prefers her own space during meals and with special toys. She can get a bit too excited when she sees other dogs on a leash, so her foster is helping her stay calm during walks; she’s very food motivated, which makes training a breeze. This sweet girl will do best in a cat-free home. While she enjoys car rides, she can experience mild carsickness on longer journeys, so shorter trips are ideal for her. Liberty is wonderfully playful yet calm, independent but affectionate, and she’s ready to embrace new experiences to learn more about life. With so much ahead of her, she seeks a forever friend to share life's adventures. Liberty is currently fostered in Houston, Texas, but she’s available for adoption nationwide. Her $600 adoption fee includes transport to her forever home. Liberty is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease and will be available to transport in early October!
