Meet Penny! Penny is a charming 5-year-old Mini Labradoodle, weighing about 20 pounds. She’s gradually discovering what it means to feel safe and loved after coming from a challenging past in a puppy mill. While she’s still shy and may sometimes hide when scared, Penny is making strides every day. Once she trusts you, her sweet personality shines through. This gentle girl enjoys a quiet life and can often be found lounging near her foster mom's feet. It's heartwarming to see her starting to run and play, especially with her favorite old frozen rag. Penny gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a friendly, confident canine companion to guide her. She has not been tested with cats or children yet. Penny is crate trained and mostly house trained, with just occasional accidents. She walks well on a leash and responds to gentle commands. A securely fenced yard would suit her perfectly, as she isn't a jumper. Penny needs a patient family that understands she's not going to transform into a social butterfly overnight. She requires reassurance and time to feel comfortable and safe in new situations. While she is curious about electrical cords, keeping them out of reach will help her adjust. Plus, her new family must pay extra attention to doors, as she tends to bolt when scared.
